Recognising Asian Women of Achievement

Need to talk to us? Find out how we can support you.

Last Wednesday saw the eighth Asian Women of Achievement Awards. Compered by BBC London local news presenter Mishal Husain, the awards took place at the Hilton on Park Lane.

Winners included property magnate Superna Sethi of the Manhanttan Group and Sharon Kaur as Entrepreneur of the Year for founding Sahara Homes Ltd which provides residential care for women with learning difficulties.

Senior Business Development Manager Peter Stilliard, from Commercial, found the event very inspiring: “By sponsoring these awards we continue to raise the Group’s profile in the community and reaffirm our continuing support for Asian women across the UK. With one in five Asian businesses started by women, this is a great opportunity to show we’re keen to help them in their ambitions; my colleagues have already reported some great business leads from the night which we will follow up.”

Diana Brightmore-Armour, Managing Director of Corporate Banking, added: “Our sponsorship continues to offer us excellent business opportunities and leads. It’s now up to us to nurture these connections and deepen our relationships further.”

Our next major event for the Asian market is the Jewel Awards in the Midlands on the 14th July and the Southern awards on the 15th September.
