Birchwood Products makes its move
Established in 1973, Birchwood Products is a £20 million-turnover business selling its own brands such as Scruffs clothing, Van Vault and Defender Power and Lighting from a state-of-the-art HQ in Giltbrook, Nottinghamshire.
Business Development Director Rob Gawne first established a relationship with Birchwood Products in 2003. In September 2005 the company was reviewing its banking requirements and tasked Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets to:
Working closely the team identified the customer’s current and ongoing financial needs. They then consulted with specialists across the Bank to provide tailored solutions to suit Birchwood’s domestic and international transactional requirements.
“The team worked extremely well together, offering a comprehensive range of flexible, practical products and services.” says Tim Allen, non-executive director, Birchwood Products. “I was impressed with how smoothly the handover took place and the team’s overall professional approach.”
Birchwood accepted a package of integrated products. We now provide facilities including: Working Capital, bonding, Documentary Letters of Credit, a term loan, plus Cardnet services and Business Charge Cards.
A key differentiator in the package was a bespoke and flexible foreign exchange package provided by James Douglas in Financial Markets. It provides protection against the downside of currency movements, as well as achieving and even exceeding budget parameters.*
